From this date, if there is no acknowledgement from the "admin contact" within 5 days of a transfer request being made, the transfer will automatically take place. We are very concerned that this system will make it easier for domain names to be fraudulently transferred away, without the owner's knowledge or consent, and are therefore taking steps to guard against this. We will be introducing "domain locking" free of charge on all domain names that we manage for our customers. A "LOCK" state will be placed on all domains with ICANN, this means a transfer is automatically rejected. Domain names can be unlocked on a per domain basis should you wish to transfer to another registrar - please simply contact our helpdesk before you initiate a transfer and request your name is unlocked. » Your Site Here joins Ofcom Broadband Migration code of practice - 12th August 2004 We are proud to announce that we have joined the Ofcom Broadband Migration code of practice. This code of practice is a voluntary measure which has been proposed and developed by an industry group of broadband service providers. The code aims to secure agreement between service providers to facilitate fairly the so-called 'migration' of customers from one provider to another. A customer wishing to change their service provider must first contact their existing service provider to agree termination of their service contract and obtain an authorisation code. This code of practice ensures that all Your Site Here customers will be provided with this authorisation code within 5 working days of a request being made. We have found that it is common for some service provides to delay providing the code to customers, or in some rare cases refusing to provide it at all. We hope that this code of practice will be seen as the industry taking positive action to ensure consumers get the choice of who their service provider should be, and that consumers will favour Internet Service Providers who have signed up to the code. Further details of this code of practice can be found on the ofcom website at: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consumer_guides/bbm_cop/. » Broadband ADSL from £19.57 per month - 26th April 2004 Through our sister company Fast.co.uk, we are pleased to offer Broadband ADSL from just £19.57 + vat per month, with no download limits, restrictions or port blocking.
